Tláloc, "El que hace brotar", era el agua divinizada y fecundador de la tierra, que residía en las más altas montañas donde se forman las nubes.
Era una deidad benéfica que tenía también su lado negativo al enviar rayos, heladas, inundaciones y granizo, todo lo cual podía destruir las cosechas. Gustaba de alimentarse comiendo niños enfermos y llorones. |
